The Studio Behind Gone Home Is Developing Their Latest Game Independently.

Open roads development

Open Roads is being developed without the affiliation of the parent company. The game’s development will be credited to the “ Open Roads Team.”

Fulbright is going through a dilemma with the co-founder stepping down from his position. There were several allegations against Steve during the development of Gone Home. He has since then apologized for his hurtful leadership style. Upon the release of the game, the development of Open Roads will be credited to the “Open Roads Team” instead of Fullbright.

Steve Gaynor resigned from his position and stepped away from the development of the new game on the 12th of May. In his newsletter, he stated that it’s no longer Fullbright’s place to represent development after what occurred.

Even though Steve Gaynor will not be leading the development, he will still be involved in the writing department. After all, he is a fantastic game writer, and such talent should not go to waste.

When is Open Roads coming out?

Annapurna, the publisher behind the game has yet to release a date for the game. The narrative game has no real information leaking out about its development.
