Diablo 4 : Is It A MMO Or An ARPG?

Just a couple of months left till the release, and we have some exciting news regarding the genre of Diablo 4. Is it an MMO? Is it an ARPG? Or is it something completely new?

The gaming gods have blessed us this time, as Blizzard announced that the game would stay true to its original genre, which is an action RPG. However, the developers have mentioned that the game may sometimes feel like an MMO, but it will never indeed be one.

According to Joe Piepiora, the associate game director, Diablo 4 will always be an action RPG. The large open world and the players buzzing around may give the game an MMO-style outlook, but it won’t function as one.

This news relieved many hardcore Diablo fans who have been waiting for almost 11 years for a sequel.

Diablo Immortal was a disaster, and gamers hoped that Diablo 4 would return to its good old roots. Gamers can now sigh in relief as Diablo 4 is still the dungeon-crawling, loot-loving, monster-killing game we all love.

Jor Piepiora states that the game will have a ton of replayability, however, it won’t feel like the endless grind most MMOs are. Diablo 4 will have a fantastic storyline that players can complete before ascending to the end game. The game will have a 100-level cap with a standard paragon point system similar to Diablo 3. However, unlike Diablo 3, the player will be limited to 220 paragon points, both good and bad.

The beta for Diablo 4 is already out, and it’s high time to start planning your builds if you are an expectant fan.
